Matamata Dramatic Society has a long history of entertaining Matamata residents.
For 78 years, the society has produced plays, one-act festivals and Short & Sweet competitions. As there is no cinema in Matamata, the theatre runs Friday Flicks movie evenings once a month, and local comedy troupe The Improvables put on six shows a year of wacky, unscripted, improvised comedy, alongside three staged shows per year.
If you're keen to join the theatre or receive their newsletters, contact details can be found on their website.
